Teaching at ABM
Teaching methods

An efficient teaching method:

The aim of our brisk and efficient teaching methods is to develop the student's linguistic ability to cope with a variety of communication situations that arise in daily and professional life. We go out of our way to ensure that the teaching dispensed meets the needs and expectations of each individual student.

The teaching based on communicative pedagogy focuses especially on comprehension and expression in written and oral usage. The study of grammatical structures and vocabulary and the use of real-life documents (books, press articles, audio tapes DVD and video) are an integral part of the course.

We also use pedagogical manuals and documents which are specially conceived and adapted to the teaching of French as a foreign language, FLE. At the beginning of the session, we give each trainee a grammar guide, which has been specially designed by the pedagogical department.
A high speed internet access is available to those who desire one. In our library, our trainees will find books, magazines and documents.

A team of dynamic and competent teachers:

All courses are given by experienced teachers with universities qualifications and who specialise in the teaching of French as a Foreign Language and who will provide high quality teaching. They are well experienced in the teaching of adults or adolescents in multinational classes and have a great ability to adjust to the cultural and linguistic difficulties of their students.

Our team of instructors is supervised by our pedagogical director, who conceives the great outlines of our teaching programs within a team. The pedagogical director will be able to meet all your pedagogical needs.

In addition to the team of teachers, there are also experienced monitors to superintend the activities organised by ABM and to take a part in the day-to-day life of the students by helping them with practical matters and supervising the group, particularly with regard to minors.

5 course levels are proposed in small groups:

Courses, ranging from the level of total beginner to the advanced level will be proposed to our participants and a great flexibility is guaranteed, in case the training level is not adapted to the trainee’s needs; meaning the trainee makes a slower or faster progress than the rest of the group. In fact, we will then be able to suggest to the trainee to change levels by joining another group, which is better adapted to his/her needs.

The pedagogical follow-up:

Our pedagogical director will be available to you during the whole time of your stay and will observe the development of the students, who are getting ready to pass the DELF/DALF, as well as the Alliance Française diplomas. Mock exams are regularly scheduled and will enable us to talk about your progress and difficulties.
We will then give you advice. This includes a series of recommendations and advice in order for you to be aware of your progress.

NB : ABM welcomes disabled persons (information on request).
